SMIDEC E-MANUFACTURING GRANT -- ERP

Introduction

The Scheme provides assistance to Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve competitiveness, efficiency and productivity.

	QUALIFYING CRITERIA
i.	Companies incorporated under the Malaysian Companies Act; 1965;
ii.	Manufacturing companies or companies providing manufacturing related services** with an annual sales turnover of not exceeding RM25 million and with full-time employees of not exceeding 150; and
iii.	At least 60% equity held by Malaysian.

	OBJECTIVE
	The Scheme provides grant to assist SMIs to:
	Acquire Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software; or
	Subscribe to on-line ERP system.

FORM OF ASSISTANCE
The maximum grant allocated per company is RM500,000.00. The assistance is given in the form of a matching grant where 50% of approved project cost is borne by the Government and the remainder by the applicant.

	ELIGIBLE EXPENSES
	Purchase of ERP software or first-year subscription to on-line ERP system;
	Implementation charges including system study, customisation and training;
	Purchase of related networking equipment and server; and Other software such as Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), Enterprise Resource Management (ERM), Materials Resource Planning (MRP), Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Customer Relations Management (CRM) can also be considered based on SMIs' capabilities.

	PRIORITY
	Priority will be given to SMIs which:
	Manufacture products or involved in activities or services promoted under the Promotion of Investments Act (PIA), 1986;
	Participate in the Industrial Linkage Programme (ILP)

	**Manufacturing related services
	Engineering support services such as calibration, electroplating, machining, heat treatment, metal casting, metal forging;
	Specialised services such as warehousing, bulk breaking, international procurement centre, haulage;
	Maintenance and repair of factory machinery and equipment;
	Software development such as CAD, CAM, CAE, ERP, CIM, SCM, CRM;
	Automation of production line;
	Design houses; and
	Packaging services.
